Apparently its the “World’s Most Amazing Trick Shot”. I thought the first table was cool! wowza.

Last weekend I performed at a very special event called the Sunshine Dreams for Kids and performed some close-up mingling magic. More than 80 “special kids” - all “Sunshine Dreams for Kids” - from Penticton to Kamloops came to play Sunday at Scandia Golf & Games. This is the 11th Annual and for all these kids, it’s a real treat. Scandia has given a Sunday morning each year when these kids can come and play games to their hearts content, all with Scandia’s compliments.

I’d like to personally thank all the other people who got on board to support this event. Bunsmaster in Pentiction supplied free pizza and Coca Cola for supplying free drinks. Ace Plumbing and Airtec Heating provided oodles of toys which were given away as prizes. U.P.S. Westbank produced the invitations that originally were sent to all Sunshine Dreams for Kids who had received the Dreams in past years. And of course, all the volunteers who made the event possible (Thanks Karen!)

The Daily Courier wrote up a nice little article about the event. You can click on the image below to read the whole article.

First off thanks to everyone who made it out last month’s OSM magic meeting. If you didn’t make it out, boy did you really miss out! We had a huge group with some old faces returning and some new faces too. We quickly got into the magic and I don’t think there was a person there who left without learning something.

The next meeting will be held on April 1st. I realize it’s April 1st, but, that’s really the date we got. If you’re interested in joining us or just want more information, please email me or call me. My contact information is available on my website.

I’ve seen the below video in various forms, check it out.

In the weekend edition of The Daily Courier known as “The Okanagan Sunday” Dorothy Brotherton included me in an article about young entrepreneurs! I’ve scanned the article, just click here to read the whole thing.

Uncanny

The resemblance is uncanny. ;)

Here’s a picture that Luke drew for me when I performed at his 6th birthday party. This show was excellent, the family had seen me several times before, and they had some awesome decorations (all three pictures are from this party!).

Whenever I goto a birthday party show one of my favorite things is to see how the area has been decorated. For birthday parties sometimes just a tidy up has been done, other times I feel like I’ve walked into a Martha Stewart photo-shoot with everything perfectly placed, and occasionally parents goto the extreme and there’s decorations everywhere! That last one is my favorite.

Like I said in my Birthday Party Tips page, if you do nothing else, make sure you put something outside your house to let people know they’ve found the right place. The easiest way to do this is to mark your address sign with some balloons. If your front door faces the street, another idea is to get one of those door banners. Below is a photo of a great idea I saw at a party recently, they put out a chalkboard sign welcoming everyone.

Once again, for getting the inside of your house ready for a party I’m going to direct you to my party tips page it really has the bare bones of everything you need to know. Decorating your walls with playing cards, streamers, balloons, colored plates, cups, and napkins is the easiest way to create a magical atmosphere. Also, don’t forget the music, its the easiest way to let everyone know its party time!

The performance area can be decorated a number of ways as well. Again, the standard route is to just tidy up the area and make sure that toys and things are put away. Most of the time the kids will just on the floor, but having the kids sit on cushions, or sitting in kids chairs can work well too. Setting up a curtain against the wall to make the space look like a theater works well, or adding a curtain to the entrance way. Another idea is to give each of the kids a “ticket” to see the show at the start of the party, and you collect them back from the kids before they enter the room to see the show.
