Jump on board the 1st annual Light Up The Lake!

The Kelowna Community Food Bank presents the 1st Annual Light Up the lake event on July 1st to kick off our 17th Annual Christmas in July campaign. Jump on board as we cruise around Kelowna bay while lighting up the city with inspiration.
Light Up the Lake takes place on Tuesday July 1, 2008 from 8:00pm to 10:00pm promising a memorable evening of lights, laughter, music, and giving- a complete evening of entertainment. This exciting event benefits the nearly 30,000 persons (40% of whom are children) who use the Food Bank annually, in addition to the 6,000 clients of other local agencies we help such as the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club and Kelowna Women’s Shelter.

Thanks iTricks for rounding up youtube clips of all the magicians that performed on Letterman’s Magic Week. You’ll notice that Friday nights performers, Penn and Teller are missing. They performed what seems to be their new “signature effect”. I had heard about it, but never seen it, so it was a joy to finally see it myself.

Well my Birthday has come and gone with 22 candles on the cake. It seems as I get older I learn how much I still need to learn. When I was younger I thought 20 year olds were so grown up, and by the time I know it I’ll be 25. I bet when I’m 25 I’ll still feel young! I didn’t receive many gifts for my birthday. As you get older it seems you get less and less. But life creates an interesting journey for us all, and so far I wouldn’t change anything thats happened. I’m very fortunate and thats the best birthday gift of all.

My birthday is on October 29th, but I always have a “Halloween” Birthday. This year was no different. On that note, I hope you had a Happy Halloween!
