My friend Jack who’s a fellow member of the Okanagan Society of Magicians sent me this cool video clip the other day.

I hadn’t seen it before, but I guess its slowly making its rounds through emails at the moment.

Thanks to everybody who came out to the magic meeting last night. We held out first ever magic auction and it went pretty good I thought. I posted a few pictures from the meeting over at facebook. Check them out.

We also had a few new guys come out to the meeting which was exciting. We just keep getting more and more interest as the club goes on.

I came across the article “Hats off to B.C. magicians” today in the Province where they mentioned the Kelowna Magic Club. Cool!

The province has a thriving magician community. The Vancouver Magic Circle, which meets monthly at Sunrise community hall, is the largest magicians’ club in Canada, with 150 members, some from as far away as Hope. There are smaller circles in Victoria and Kelowna.

Here’s the information for next month’s Kelowna Magic Club meeting.

Where: Moxies Classic Grill – Kelowna
When: Tuesday May 6 2008 6:00-8:00pm
Topic: Because I write the emails, I get to pick the topic. I was thinking for this month it would be fun to do some magic with a summer theme. It can be tricks that you can do while at the beach, tricks with a beer bottle, or maybe something with a beach towel—Anything! In the past having a theme hasn’t worked out too well… but for next meeting try and come up with something creative and show it off. It can be your own creation or something by somebody else, it doesn’t matter. You’ve got 2 weeks to come up with something.

If you know anybody who would like to join the local club, please have them me (Leif Thordarson) at (250)575-7469. We’re always looking for new members.

First off thanks to everyone who made it out last month’s OSM magic meeting. If you didn’t make it out, boy did you really miss out! We had a huge group with some old faces returning and some new faces too. We quickly got into the magic and I don’t think there was a person there who left without learning something.
