I came across the article “Hats off to B.C. magicians” today in the Province where they mentioned the Kelowna Magic Club. Cool!
The province has a thriving magician community. The Vancouver Magic Circle, which meets monthly at Sunrise community hall, is the largest magicians’ club in Canada, with 150 members, some from as far away as Hope. There are smaller circles in Victoria and Kelowna.
(its the last paragraph)
I love David Stone and his DVD’s that he’s put out. While trying to find something else today on youtube I came across this wicked clip of David Stone doing productions/manipulations with food.

I can’t wait- on August 24th I’ll be headed down to Vegas with my girlfriend for 11 days. Thankfully my girlfriend loves magic too so we’re going to check out a whole bunch of shows while we’re there. Here’s our schedule:
25th - Gerry McCambride
26th - Mac King in the afternoon, Lance Burton in the evening
27th - Cirque O
28th - Magic at the Edge
29th - Blue man group
30th - Extreme magic in the afternoon, (Leaving the night free for the clubs :))
31st - Penn and Teller
September 1st - David Copperfield
September 2nd - Free day to do whatever we want
There’s a few different clubs that we want to check out, along with old vegas and things like that, we haven’t really planned when we’re going to do those things. But hopefully we can get them done in the afternoon or one of our free evenings.
Its going to be so much fun! When I get back I’ll post about all the different shows that we check out while we’re there.
A magic moment at the library

Ali K. Zam Performs magic at the Peachland branch of the Okanagan Regional Library for members of the library’s Summer Reading Club.
Wade Robson, the Choreographer for Criss Angel’s BELIEVE, and judge on So You Think You Can Dance, previewed this piece on So You Think You Can Dance. Its supposed to be a preview of what to expect from the show BELIEVE when it starts in September.
Choreo Wade Robson. Performed by Cirque du Soleil. Copyright Dick Clark Productions. !!!! Hypnotizing!!! Equal parts amazing and nightmare. (and that’s exactly how I like my amazing)

So You Think You Can Dance
Thursday, August 7th, 8 p.m., FOX
Sixteen members of the cast of BeLIEve will be performing “Homage to the Rabbits” on the first of the two-part Season Four finale. The number, choreographed by Wade Robson, does not feature any magic or Criss Angel, but it should still give us a feel for this new Cirque du Soleil production, which goes into previews September 12th and is scheduled to officially open October 10th.

Sorry I haven’t been posting much for the past few weeks. Boy have I been busy! Just in the past few weeks I performed at BC150 event in Trail, I finished the last of my library shows for the season, performed at the Rutland Centennial, and yesterday I was up in Chase for their Centennial as well. Its been great to get out there and share my magic with audiences!
Great piece of magic.
